The Documentary
C.B. Claiborne’s story goes far beyond being the first Black athlete at Duke University.
He was an activist who fought for the dignity and rights of Black students on campus—even when it meant sacrificing playing time. His courage helped shape a movement far bigger than basketball.
But C.B.’s legacy didn’t stop there. He went on to become an engineer, Fulbright scholar, photographer, and a professor.
Following our short film’s premiere at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival this August, we’re now developing an 80-minute feature-length film that has the potential to reach national and global audiences. This is a powerful, untold story of legacy, activism, and leadership—and we’re seeking mission-aligned investors to help bring it to life.
